about the discovery of an onomatopoeia

Sometimes at dusk when i sit on my balcony, i see a bat whirling around the appletree. One time s/he flew really close by and i heard the sound of the wings : db.db.db.db.db.
Then i realized the old Kiëngiric/Sumerian dubdubu is an onomatopoeia!

(Actually the word is  dubdubumusen , musen being a determinative meaning 'bird'. Other determinatives e.g. : dingir =god/goddess,  gis =wood  and  na =stone ( Nice example :
esi =hard ,
gisesi =ebony      naesi =diorite )

(Volkskrant  11-04-2012)
: Dawn, six policemen and a 'boom', as they call their
 battering-ram.

A nice example of the genesis of an onomatopeiac noun.

( as there are many in all languages, to name some :
english :jingle light ringing tune >advertisementtune, dripolator kind of coffeepercola-
ter, and the beautiful  Houyhnhnm,coined by Jonathan Swift, gentle
horse-people .
german : kladderadatsch sound of a noisy fall>title of a satiric magazine,Berlin,19th
century,
kiengiric/sumerian : balang.>kind of snare-instrument
zulu : ivum >car

Ofcause this kind of noun is wellknown from children's language : " Look at that oink-oink grinning at the moo-moo!"

REFLECTIONS ON THE ANCIENTY OF A QWERTYKEYBOARDSIGN *

EME

AN

On the qwertykeyboard an ancient sign resides, right between & and (, U and F9, I and F8 :
*.
This 5,000 year old Kiengiric writing sign was -and still is- named AN and meant  Sky,Heaven,
Grain ear, Date spadix ( fleshy spike of tiny flowers -hm....so AN could be called a spike-sign)
In short : the origin of * is *.
Meaning sky or cluster of small flowers.

(The people who lived in the region Kiengir, were called Sumerûm by their neighbours, the
Akkadians, and that is the name they became known by.
The Kiengirics called their language Emegir, Eme : tongue, language)

* Ancienty is an ancient word, in the dictionaries marked with Obs. obsolete (oops!: obs.). If not for the dictionaries
   the word would have passed away into oblivion.
   Note: one sentence, an expired word and a newly born one.

P.S. : For the Kiengiric/Sumerian dictionary from the Pennsilvania University, google ePSD.
